Software engineer. I build the backend infrastructure that gets quieter, not louder, as traffic grows.
Founding engineer at Awtomic (YC S20). 10+ years across Eventbrite, EA, ING. Currently going deep on distributed systems, observability, and the next wave of frontend.
Now May 2026
What I'm working on this quarter. A snapshot, kept honest. Inspired by /now pages.
An open-source web performance SDK. Lightweight, browser-first, OpenTelemetry-compatible.
ClickHouse for analytics workloads and OpenTelemetry for end-to-end observability.
“Designing Data-Intensive Applications” — second pass, this time with notes.
First technical post lands in June: lessons from running a multi-tenant Shopify pipeline at Awtomic.
Selected Work
Founding Engineer
Awtomic (YC S20)
Designed and own a multi-tenant, event-driven AWS pipeline (Lambda + SQS + DynamoDB) processing Shopify webhooks across 200+ merchants.
- Idempotent retries and per-tenant queue isolation: a noisy merchant cannot starve the rest of the platform.
- Observability that catches drift before customers do — structured logs, metrics, and synthetic checks across the webhook path.
- Built two production React/Next.js storefront integrations on a shared design system, used in millions of customer transactions.
Senior Software Engineer
Eventbrite
Migrated critical high-traffic surfaces from a Python monolith into event-driven services (Kafka + Redis + MySQL).
- Led the Zoom + Online Events integration that grew the share of online events from ~6% to ~30% of the catalog.
- Owned frontend slices in React/TypeScript through the migration, keeping the user-facing path stable while the backend reshaped underneath.

What I'm working with
Two lists, kept honest. What I'm investing time in right now, and what I'd reach for in production tomorrow without a second thought.
Where I'm spending my learning hours this quarter.
What I've shipped, owned, and operated in real systems.
